In no way is this post sponsored by Sephora, I simply love the beauty retailer and the products it carries I may earn a commission on any affiliate links you click.
Hallelujah, for the return of Sephora’s Beauty Insider Summer Bonus sale!!! It’s the best time to stock up on your faves, and basically, everything is on sale—so why not go ham? You probably won’t see discounts like this until Black Friday Week (which is totally a thing now). This seems like the perfect time to share all my Sephora staples with you.
Every pick is a product I own and use all the time. Although I will tell you, I’m planning on ordering the Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Alpha Beta peel pads that Lauryn Evarts of The Skinny Confidential talks about all the time. Her post on them here.
TANGENT: The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Show is one of my fave podcasts. Links for both of the Dr. Dennis Gross TSC Podcast episodes are here and here. If you want to know about all the podcasts I listen to, post here. So make sure you get your faves and any discontinued products, RIP Benefit Brightening Concealer.
Just a fair warning, I mention Dr. Dennis Gross a few time in this post, so I just want to say I’m not sponsored by him either. He is a wealth of knowledge and a great resource for skin care information. So without any more delay, let’s get into my Sephora Summer Bonus sale picks.
So last fall I ordered a bunch of stuff off Sephora’s website (shocker I know), and I got a beauty offer for seven free packets of this Kate Somerville retinol serum. It smells SO GOOD! My skin looks refreshed and smooth when I wake up the next morning.
Ik it’s 98. With continued use though, I do this product would have a noticeable difference in your skin. As Dr. Dennis Gross says, “Retinol is the master of surface imperfection.” So adding a retinol product to your skin care routine, even if it’s not this Kate Somerville one, is a good idea to combat pretty much all aging. Retinol stimulates collagen growth, and this serum has vitamin C, which helps with discoloration too.
A can-live-without mask—It sounds more dramatic than a must-have! Where to start with this one—It smells amazing, it’s a clean beauty product, and it makes your skin looked so refreshed. Got my first tube last December, and I had to refill in March. This is one influencer-endorsed product that’s worth the hype!
For those days when your skin is looking less than stellar. Maybe it was too many glasses of rosé or overall general exhaustion. This eye gel brightens your under-eye area and gets rid of all that puffiness. It also tightens and smooths everything out. So no one will know you left the strip club at dawn after you apply a mountain of concealer. (Don’t worry, I got just the thing from Benefit Cosmetics a little later.)
Got this for my Beauty Insider birthday gift (we all did), and I super love it and the moisturizer (more on that later). I love the jelly consistency and how it applies and lathers. Left my skin feeling clean. No leftover makeup or sunscreen on my face. Other cleansers I use are Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser and Bioelements Sensitive Skin Cleanser.
Whoever said you’re done with acne after your early twenties is seriously mistaken. These pads are good for hormonal breakouts, breakouts from sweat, or whatever. The pads have salicylic and glycolic acid.
Glycolic acid exfoliates the top layer of skin (the epidermis) so the salicylic acid can get into the pore and clear up the zit. It’s a one-two punch. You need glycolic acid, an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA), which works on the surface, in combination with the salicylic acid, a beta hydroxy acid (BHA), which works deeper into the pore to remove dead skin cells and excess oil.
So if you got the Drunk Elephant birthday gift, you got this moisturizer with the cleanser. Super in love with this moisturizer. It’s unlike any other I’ve used before. It feels so lush on your skin when you apply it. I feel like my skin just sucks it right up and looks so plump and hydrated afterward. I even used it while I was in Florida this winter, and it wasn’t too much moisture.
If I had to name one beauty product I couldn’t live without, it would be mascara and then this tinted moisturizer. There is nothing better than washing your face and putting this on. It makes me look completely put together so quickly and easily. I wear it all the time when I’m not wearing makeup. This tinted moisturizer really helps even out your skin tone and cover up dark circles. Makes you look refreshed and put together. It’s the perfect no-makeup-look product. And the best part is when you wear it people will probably think your skin just looks that great all the time.
I got this primer for free in an Influenster VoxBox awhile back, and I really warmed up to it. It’s not the best primer for doing a full face of makeup, but it is the perfect thing to pair with a tinted moisturizer after your morning skin care routine. It really brightens up the face and gives it a pretty, subtle glow. Leaves your skin looking vibrant and hydrated.
Never knew how important using primer was until my first Sephora Custom Makeover. I even wrote a blog post about my first makeover. Anywho, I love this primer because it really airbrushes your skin imperfections — all those fine lines, breakouts, and large pores. This primer helps your makeup stay on too and last throughout the day. Whenever I have a big event or know I’ll be out in hot, humid weather, I make sure and apply this before doing my makeup.
Started using this powder three years ago and never looked back. It’s the best for baking under your eyes because it packs on evenly. (More on baking here.) And if you’re wondering what the difference is between setting and finishing powder—finishing powder smooths while setting, well, sets.
Did you know that when you mix blue or green with pink, the warm pink lifts and neutralizes the cool blue and green tones? That’s how this color-correction concealer works under your eyes to get rid of dark circles. When I’m out it, my foundation is pretty good for covering up my dark circles, but this concealer makes my skin look flawless. I wear color shade: light.
This foundation is life if you like full coverage. It covers zits super well and doesn’t cake. Love that I can put it on in the morning and still look put together even if I’m gone all day. It’s a nice matte finish, and it blends well with other product. I can’t wear anything else. It’s seriously the best, and I’ve used it for more than five years.
This match stix is the first Fenty Beauty product I’ve tried. Love that it’s a stick highlighter and not liquid. You can apply it directly on your face or your beauty blender. It blends really nicely. You know how sometimes when you blend highlighters, it can lift the foundation or powder already on your face? This highlighter doesn’t do that at all. I’ve been using it all summer too and still have a ton left.
I use this palette for everything. I use the peach pearl and the peach honey the most on my cheeks. Sometimes I’ll put it on as eyeshadow, and it works great for that too. I like that it has some shimmer to it but not too much. It’s also really easy to layer if you add more intensity to the color. All the colors are really pigmented.
I had no idea what I was missing out on until I upgraded my brow pencil to this one from Anastasia Beverly Hill. The application is seamless. It just glides on when you apply it. It’s super pigmented and great for precision. I also love how natural your brows look when you fill them in with it. I will never go back. It’s totally worth the upgrade from your drug store brow pencil.
Not sure how I ever lived my life before setting spray. It’s especially vital during the summer or in hot, humid weather like Florida. I use this setting spray every time I got to Disney World. And I usually I’m sweating my balls off on a hot day, and my makeup holds up with this. Even getting caught in the rain or a good cry, and my makeup stays on! It doesn’t dry out your skin or clog your pores either. I use this every time I do my makeup now.
The COVER FX setting spray was the first one I tried a few years ago, and honestly, it works just as well as the UD All Nighter. They’ve both passed the Disney World test on multiple occasions. I originally had the illuminating spray, but I switched it up to the dewy, and I really like the overall finish of my makeup with it when I want a nice hydrated glow. I think I’m going to be using this one a lot more as it starts to drier in the fall and winter.
I hope this post has been helpful, and at the very least, now you know there’s a sale going on at Sephora and you can stock up on all your favorite products.
